The Amazing Comedy Magic of Canberra Magician

 Christopher Charles

Winner 1st Prize Best Party Magician AdMagiCon 1997

One Minute Trailer

Our family and children shows are individually designed for ages from 5 yrs old to 85 years old. We do home based events rights through to large stage shows.

Our Family shows have been a feature act in Australia and overseas at events such as the Australia Day Picnic; the launch of Cathay City in Hong Kong, and dinner entertainment at the Irririki Resort in Vanuatu.

Family and Children’s Birthday Parties

We have performed at the birthdays of over 700 children in Australia and overseas. Our shows feature interactive magic, magic games and giveaways. While the birthday star is the focus we aim our shows to entertain both the adults and the kids.

These shows are designed and tailored both to the age group and for the special guest. The core of a one hour children’s show features the following:

  • Opens with one of the musical award winning routines which were awarded 1st Prize in South Australia in 1997 by Christophers’ magic peers.
  • A modern comedy approach to magic
  • Skilled theatre by a trained actor/director who studied at the Australian National University
  • No stereotype performance of old magic routines
  • 5-8 ages – May include games & bubble blowing
  • 9-15 ages – More sophisticated magic with a teach-in session
  • 15-80 ages  – We give you the full magic experience based on our 28 years in the business
  • One hour of non stop magic entertainment wrapped in music and theatre.
  • The show closes with the special guest saving the day by becoming the magician

Client Reviews

We thought you were amazing!!! Natasha (7 yr boys birthday 2016)

Thank you for the show you did for the Year 8 girls. It was brilliant and exactly what I had been hoping for, a little of the science behind magic explained but also leaving the girls wondering. It finished the day off beautifully. (Jo Aboud Merici College 2013)

Just a quick note to say thank you for the show today. Both  children and staff are raving about it. They all thought it was fantastic, the best “kids” magic show they had ever seen (adults amazed too.. how does the Ribena bottle trick work??? (Annette French Australian School 2012).

We would like to thank you for your entertaining performance at our school fair. My children have not stopped talking about how amazing you were…Thank you for making it a fantastic and exciting day for them! (Lina Blair Burgmann Anglican School 2011)

“Having your act was good, broke up the evening and gave the kids something to focus on other than getting trashed!” (Fleur Joyce May 2010 – 18th Birthday)

“The magic show was great. I did not expect so many people. How far in advance can we book for next years party! Jessica Berghauser, Bruce Ridge Early Childhood Centre Dec 2010)

Student and Teacher  Entertainment package

As with any strong magic, our show will baffle and amaze. Expect to laugh yourself silly with a lot of screaming and cheering from the audience in this action packed show.

In vaudevillian tradition we combine music, theatre and magic to explore the different styles of close-up, parlour and stage of magic.

Students and teachers are encouraged at the end of the 30 – 40 minute performance to ask questions about performing; magic, living in other countries and any other issues. WE also have our “brain” show for school groups explaining how

the brain is fooled. This solo show is fun for students, teachers and parents.

The magic of Christopher Charles can introduce preschoolers to the amazing world of magic. With plenty of audience participation expect a lot of laughing and screaming as children try to find Tom the cat and the lost magic words.

At the end of the performance preschoolers, students and teachers will be encouraged to ask questions about performing magic.

Note:  Please advise us you are aware that guests have seen the show before so that new routines can be presented
